23 Summarize your thoughts

There was life before CL2.0 and there will be life after CL2.0. There is a whole new world out there now! I am going to check out Discovering Assistive Technology because I have students with disabilities as well as Classroom 2.0 for Teens, because contrary to what they think, teens do not know everything, not even when it comes to technology!

At first, I was not sure how I was going to find the time for Classroom 2.0, even though I had an interest and curiosity about the various topics. I am so thankful that I hung in there because I have grown exponentially personally and professionally from the experience.

I have an insatiable appetite to know more about technology and what is available. I have started using Google Docs and have signed up my students. The latest copy of their work is always available to them and me. They edit and I am able to provide feedback. I have changed my grading; the students revise until their paper deserves an A.  The students have become more comfortable with writing, but it is the rewriting and revising again and again that has increased their ability. This is made easy using Docs. I am beginning to love technology!

I have also created a Career WebQuest which has worked out well for my ESE English IV class. I am  better able to differentiate my instruction to address the varied skill level among the students. With a web based lesson, I can assist them individually. You can develop your own WebQuest with the many templates offered by Google. Everything is free!

I will continue to listen to the webinars and look forward to an advanced Classroom 2.0.

  1. Congratulations! I'm so glad that you have gained so much and enjoyed doing it.

Your description of your students revising their work sounds just like what I read in today's Writer's Almanac entry about Judy Blume (http://writersalmanac.publicradio.org/index.php?date=2011/02/12).

I hope you will continue to encourage the others who are working on CL 2.0 this time and help me spread the word if we offer it again.
